Ulfhams saga
/ Annad svid / Hafnarfjordur theatre 2004
A play produced in oktober 2004. I wrote the text and based it on an old Icelandic epic poem from the 14.th century (see more about rimur). The king of Gotland is under a spell. He turns into a wolf each winter and roam the forests. His wife is tired of him and when he returns home one day she lures him to bed and chops his head off. Then she turns to Ulfham, her son and wants him to take his fathers place. He runs to the forests, but his mother casts a spell on his freinds, they shall have an uncontrollable lust for birds. Ulfham shall walk into a ghosts grave and be buried alive until a fair maiden comes and releases him...
Ulfhams saga is a heavy medieval drama based on a story not known to many Icelanders or to the world with issues that make it like a mix of Hamlet and Oedipus.
