Happy New Year! YES, we are still alive, but we have just been so very busy working and having fun that I have not found any time nor energy to write. My conscience has been scratching so badly that it hurt, because I am sure you dearly miss my witty articles :-)
We undertook the huge job of varnishing all floors aboard Lady Ann and that is quite a tricky job when one lives aboard.
For some reason I seem to have overtaken Kata's responsibility of sharing my hair/fur everywhere, thus I am either sent or taken for a long walk every time the "today's portion" has been varnished.
We portioned the floors so that we can walk around as soon as the varnish is hard enough not to get hair etc. stuck in it. But, you should see me when I wake up in the night and try to remember where it is safe to step down on the way to the head :-)
Fridros is coming for a visit soon and I am looking mighty forward to have her here with us. We shall not be taking her sailing much, but it will be wonderful to spend time together and we shall be able to go for walks and all kind of trips. One of the nice things with us being here is that we do not have to count every drop of water spent and that is a luxury when enjoying a visitor aboard sailboat.
We have thoroughly enjoyed exploring Johor Bahru and are slowly finding favourite spots in the city. Every morning we go for a short jog, sometimes altering our route slightly in order to inure the neighbourhood.
One day we went to Singapore to buy things for the boat that we could not find here in Johor Bahru. It is a shame that the locals have not yet made sure that the customers of the new marinas here can find the necessary stuff within an easy distance from the marina.
The Malaysians are loosing lucrative business over the bridge, because it is so hard to find stuff we all need to keep our floating homes in working order.
It is a amazing how boaters always have this long, long ToDoList in order to keep vessel and crew in working order.
During 2009 we covered 4.206 miles of whom Mr. Perkins pushed 2.902. 1.840 miles were with the Malaysian Rally and through the year we bought 1.672 liters of fuel.
