I was born at Selfoss on December 17th 1952. After a week I had had enough of the town and moved to Kolsholtshellir farm, a farm close by, and took my parents with me. There I grew very fond of my grandmother, as all little boys should.

When I was four they moved to Galtastadir farm and I had to tag along. There they lived until 1990, when they quit farming and moved to Selfoss.

When I was 14 I left home for school, education in rural areas being only three years back then. I graduated from Upper Secondary School..(about two years of an american college) in 1974.
During these years I had various summer jobs, worked at the farm and was a seaman on the good trawlers Uranus, Neptune and Jupiter, trawelling from the east coast of Greenland to Germany.
After upper secondary the serious life took over. First I became an English teacher in the Vestman Islands, shortly after the eruption there. I taught at the school, had my meals in a fishing plant´s canteen and lived at the old people´s home. That experience led me to the belief that getting old is not a very interesting goal in life.
Then I went Holmavik where I also tught school. There I ran into fate because there I met my only significant other, Sigurey Finnbogadottir. We did not marry but lived together for 14 years.
From Holmavik we moved to Reykjavik, where I went to university and our older son Brynjolfur was born. I finished my cand.mag degree in History in 1983
Then we wnt out into the country again, at first to Saudarkrokur where I taught for two years at an upper secondary school there and our younger son Andri was born. In 1985 we moved to Selfoss where I have been living since then. In 1989 Sigurey and I stopped living together and she moved to Reykjavik where she still lives.
Then the single´s scene and Divorceland opened its arms to me, where I am now a very weary and jaded traveller. I took some extra jobs then, wrote the history of Arnessysla Farmer´s Cooperative and I worked as an educational adviser for the Andorran government. Then I sort of went home and started playing with my computer. That resulted in my present interest, which is developing and using the Internet and Information technology in the classroom.
For the last twelve years I have lived alone, especially because I did not feel ready for another lasting relationship until I had straightened my affairs out and was better situated economically. Some women have been arriving..and leaving.. that was as it was and I do not grieve over them as they were nice while they were there....but then they just needed to do other things.
A few years ago I bought my own flat where I have been living since then and feel good about it.
