The Great Geysir

The hot spring Geysir in Haukadalur
has given its name to all other geysers in the world.
The Great Geysir has been quiet in later
years and the photos show another hot spring
in the area, called Strokkur, The Churn.

There is little warning of an impending eruption,
suddenly a bubble appears ...

eruption of hot water and steam shoots into the air.
