Hekluferdir offers you bus trips to the volcano Hekla and district. Departure according to the schedule below or by special requests by individuals or groups.5000,- IS.kr for  one person. We bigin to drive upp to Mt. Hekla the 1 of Juni and we drive untill the 1 of Sept 2001. Min 5 peppol in trips. Hekla 2000

Departure from Hella 10:15 AM o´clock and Arrival 17:00 PM. When Hekla started to erupt earlier in this year 2000, all trips to the
top of the mountain naturally stopped.  The tourist service Hekluferdir has
maintained a guestbook on top of Hekla, well preserved in a strong metal
box and the book itself covered in plastic.  Those who have climbed to the
top have been able to prove it by signing in the guestbook.  This has been
a practise for several years.The eruption eventually stopped and the guestbook has been saved from theopening of hell!  This big event occurred today, April 12, 2000.   The book was completely in order, whereas both the box and the plastic cover was damaged.  Most likly this is the first time in mankind´s history that a guestbook on top of a volcano survives the dramatic play of fierce forces of nature during a volcanic eruption!
