The seaweed plants are dried and ground. In this form, the spice is similar to how seaweed was originally used as food, i.e. Icelanders' dried it whole, then soaked and chopped it after it had become tender.
Our spice can be either soaked before use, or simply sprinkled onto food where it absorbs cooking juices.
Each spice bag contains recipes and information about the seaweed. These spices are great when making bread, casseroles, sauces, salad dressings, steamed vegetables, fish and much more.
We encourage you to experiment and explore the many uses of seaweed spices. Improvise, innovate and enjoy!
