Árni´s 1975 Pontiac Firebird

1975 Pontiac Firebird

This car is a Pontiac Firebird 1975, it was red in the outside and white inside with 350 engine and automatic trans. It came to Iceland 29.10.1976 and it belonged to Sigrun B. Halldorsdottir but she was 34 year old at the time – just for fun, she had it for 2 years. After that it had 4 – 5 owners and it changes alot.

I bought this Firebird 1995 and then it was with 400 small blocks engine (about 250 – 300 hp) and 350 automatic transmission, the engine had been changed a litle bit then. For examples 288 degrees camshaft, forged pistons, it was rather fast 7 – 8 sek to 60 miles.

When I purchased it, it was black and had bad paint but it did ran ok. I took it to a very good workshop for paintings (Sprautuverkstæði Sævars). There was the body taken from A to Z and it did coast around 10.000$. And nothing was speard – new parts For examples windows, front spoiler, doors, trunk, weatherstrip and alot more. Orinal parts of the car are the frame and most of the body, dashboard and the wiring harnesses but it is in somekind of a mingle.

The things that might be done are putting in a new harnesses and have some fun with the engine. Today the car is with light "worm" 400 engine with headers around 300 hp and TH 400 transmisson. The car is a Trans Am clone.

The car is garage in Akranes under a car cove, mabye for next 10 years.

This car is not for sale

1981 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am

Hey, im Nik Ganhadeiro. Im 18 and I am from Ontario, Canada. These are just a few pictures of my 1981 Trans Am.
A few years back...I noticed this Trans Am for sale in a nearby town. Knowing my first car was going to be a muscle car, I stopped to have a look. It was originally a Turbo Trans Am (4.9 litre 301 turbo), but the owner had swapped it for a 454 and had an oversized bird with flames airbrushed on the hood, and overlapping onto the fenders. I remember the price being $5000. Not too bad. But i was stupid enough to sit on it to see if it would drop a bit. Well, after a few weeks, the car disappeared, and i knew i had made a mistake.
I soon forgot about it and resumed my quest for another car. A few months later (and still looking for the right car), I came home from golfing to find this car sitting in my driveway. My dad had been driving by and noticed that it was for sale again...at the same place. He stopped and bought the car without even asking me.
It turns out that the original 301 turbo had been put back in, but knowing how reliable they are...it had spun a bearing. This time, the owner just wanted to sell it, and my dad talked him into letting it go for $1500.
I pulled the 301 and currently have it sitting apart in boxes at my uncles automotive shop. I will rebuild it eventually, but will not be using it in the car...not enough power for someone my age lol. I then discovered that it is originally a silver car with black interior. No plans on painting it back to original specs...yet.
I am currently in search of a big block, something that has some power. After seeing Gary Spooner's Twin turbo 454 set-up...ive got a few ideas rolling and i think with some time and of course money, I am going to have one mean street machine.
Anyways, hope you like my car...love the site.
